The best part is that we are always here when you get hungry!

So get in that car and follow the adventure wherever it’s calling. And to help with your quest, we’ve created a list of our favorite things to do near Elvira’s Cafe this spring and summer.

Dollywood’s Flower and Food Festival

Flower & Food Festival has been Dollywood’s original experience since 2006. Creative display and sculptures, delicious flavors, and exciting rides await you in the heart of Dolly’s creation. Enjoy walking through thousands of flower arrangements and stunning visuals or delight your taste buds with food samples inspired by the Smoky Mountain tradition. Passes are available here

Circle Yer Wagens

In May, Sevier County Fairgrounds invites to you to an antique car show presented by The Appalachian Volkswagen Association. There you will find all kinds of European cars along with stereo contests, cash prizes, and engine sound-offs. You can also choose to stay and camp at the primitive campsite with showers and clean restrooms. For more information, please call (865) 654-8009 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays or email info@avwa.com.

Climb A Mountain

Metcalf Bottoms is by far our favorite trail in the Smokies. It is also the closest and the most accessible hiking destination to Elvira’s Cafe. Considered an easy hike, this trail is enjoyable for all levels and can be generally completed in about 40 minutes. The trail is open all year-round and has not been affected by the recent forest fires. There are plenty of wildflowers to see and smell along the way!

Townsend Spring Festival & Old Timers' Day

Every spring, our neighboring Townsend, TN holds its annual Spring Festival & Old Timers' Day and there’s so much to see! Arts, crafts, clogging, storytelling, bluegrass, and woodcarving are some of the staples that come along with tons of fun and great memories. Our favorite part is the cake raffle and bake sale to satisfy your sweet tooth. Townsend festival is a celebration of the Appalachian tradition and mountain heritage.

Visit Anakeesta

Anakeesta is a family fun attraction located above downtown Gatlinburg. This park offers unlimited chondola rides, access to the Firefly Village - a cozy mountain town with shops and scenic views, Black Bear Village with elevated indoor dining, and the Memorial Forest Walk dedicated to the Chimney Top Fires of 2016. Bring your camera for the amazing views!

No matter what attraction you decide to visit, stop by Elvira’s Cafe on the way and enjoy our signature breakfast and lunch or kick back on the porch and enjoy seeing amazing sunsets over the mountain at dinner time on the weekends. Our Sunday brunch with an extensive menu is also an option for day travelers looking to fuel up before a fun day in the Smokies. We look forward to seeing you soon!
